In Rotterdam, GFE (organic waste) containers will be placed for residents of multi-story buildings, neighborhood by neighborhood, over the coming years. The municipality of Rotterdam engaged Spark to better inform residents about separating GFE waste. Spark designed an interactive stand that clearly explains what can and cannot go into GFE waste and how this contributes to high-quality compost. Our goal was to create a space where municipal employees have enough time and room to speak with residents and answer questions. Additionally, the stand offers visual and interactive elements to engage residents in understanding what happens to their waste. Our concept, built from flexible building blocks, makes the stand easy to adapt to different locations in the neighborhood.
The responses have been very enthusiastic. The stand attracts a lot of attention and clearly communicates the importance of properly separating GFE waste in a positive way.
