Convincible user experience
If your life depends on medicines that must be kept exactly between 2°C and 8°C, long journeys become undoable. The Cool-One changes that.
When Meds²go knocked on Spark's door, they had just finished a proof-of-concept model. Their cooling container preserves temperature-sensitive medicines with passive cooling using heat elements and vacuum insulation.
24-hour cooling
Recharge within two hours
Display and app feedback for extra control
Task
Spark's job: to create a convincing user experience and turn the model into a real product. A reliable cooling time of one day was set as target, but has been significantly exceeded by Spark thanks to smart design choices.
Challenges
The sensor in the heart of the container must be connected through all insulation to the temperature display, without compromising the critical insulation performance. And, placing cooling elements and medicines in the container must be done easily and safely.
Look and feel
Rather than a stigmatizing product, we made it into a presentable accessory. The design and materials used evoke associations with traveling and adventure.
“How do you make sure that your brilliant idea for a medication cooler becomes a product and not a stigmatizing medical device? Ask Spark!”
