In store grinder

The perfect grind for each cup of coffee

In collaboration with DE Master Blenders 1753, we have created an 'in-store' coffee grinder that enables consumers to freshly grind their own beans. Our goal was to enhance the 'fresh' experience and strengthen the brand connection.

To develop this milling system, we partnered with Ditting, a market leader in coffee grinders. The consumer scans the selected beans and uses the touchscreen to choose their coffee maker, allowing the system to select the appropriate presets. Each type of coffee bean possesses unique moisture levels and bean sizes.

User-friendly interface

To achieve the perfect grind for each cup of coffee, we have implemented adjustments in the distance between the millstones and the duration of the grind. The 'In-Store Grinder' features a user-friendly interface that guides consumers through the milling process, offering clear instructions at every step

Brand perception

While waiting, the displayed content immerses the consumer in the origin of the selected bean variety. Information about the beans, the milling process, and DE's brand values is provided. We have designed graphic user interfaces and mood films that depict the brand experience for various brands.

Content management system

Additionally, we have developed a convenient content management system that utilizes images and an .xml file, enabling swift installation of new coffee brands on the grinder. Apart from software development, we have also overseen the production of the hardware.
