New Generation
Cutting good shawarma is a specialized skill. In the Middle East, where shawarma is a delicacy, restaurants are very dependent on the expertise of the chef, but good chefs are hard to find. With the next generation shawarma robot, Solufo offers the professional a user-friendly solution.
The development of a robot requires the collaboration of various expertises. In a parallel development approach Spark worked on the branding, mechatronics, industrial design, software development and testing.
Product architecture and mechanical structure
Development of sensors and measuring system
Usability design including UX and UI.
Patented
How to perfectly cut the grilled meat at the exact right time, completely automated? That was the main challenge. Our R&D efforts led to a new and now patented innovation: The system measures a unique profile per cut, enabling the meat to be cut with an accuracy of +/- 0.2 mm.
Interaction
The user interface plays a critical role for smooth day-in day-out operation. Offering predefined menus and cleaning / maintenance instruction optimises the workflow of the user, allowing them to focus on a quality service at the restaurant.
Aesthetics
The design of the robot expresses the new proposition, an easy-to-use machine for the professional kitchen. The easy to clean surfaces, high-end materials, integrated screen and the easy-to-separate components optimize the usability and at the same time create the recognisable appearance.
Branding
At the beginning of the project Spark helped defining the brand. By aligning the needs of the user and the strength of the Solufo company, the base was formed for the development and for the corporate identity. In the design of the colour pallet also cultural aspects were considered.
Setting a new standard, the Solufo machine is the eyecatcher in a restaurant, just like an Espresso machine in a good cafe.
